ABOUT
I am a skilled graphic designer with fifteen years experience of working in-house and freelance. As a freelancer I managed the production and delivery of many simultaneous projects. This has given me an excellent ability to prioritise and manage my workload. Many projects have needed to meet tight deadlines especially when working towards a launch of a product or an event. I have organised and art directed photoshoots and have a great working relationship with my photographer husband!
I have used Creative Suite extensively and have designed websites ensuring adaptability between phone, desktop and tablet. I have a lot of social media experience including video editing. I am also an artist, always looking for fresh and creative solutions, I often use my illustration abilities in my work.
I worked at Tractor Ted, an animated TV character promoting ‘real life’ farming, helping children understand and engage with farming and the countryside. I learnt to turn around jobs quickly. Designing everything from event signage and digital content to learning materials, packaging, books and toys. I also ran social media campaigns with the marketing manager, producing collateral for posts and stories.
I worked with the Tourism Office in Worcestershire for 5 years producing ten ‘Visit’ guides in total. I gave them a more contemporary ‘look’ whilst considering the needs of those using them, creating something both accessible and fresh. I worked with each district to collate copy and images that celebrated their heritage, local colour and events. I designed a number of graphics that were used throughout the guide to create continuity, and gained experience extensively proofing the guides, as well as ensuring the outputs used the correct colour profiles for print and screen.
I was a Branding Administrator in the Product Development team at Neptune. I worked closely with the team to progress a new product from design and sampling to branding and manufacturing. I attended weekly creative meetings, sharing product branding and packaging designs to the directors. This has given me confidence and experience presenting ideas both verbally and visually.
My role involved insuring all outgoing print, POS and product labelling were on brand. I helped each department implement and communicate using the correct branding. I also designed new storefronts; fitting the design with the architecture of the buildings and surrounding landscape.
